| abstract | Two new species of chiggers parasitizing bats, Whartonia dewitti, n. sp. ex Rhinolophus affinis from Malaysia and Thailand, and W. teongwahi, n. sp. ex R. acuminatus sumatranus and Hipposideros larvatus neglectus from Indonesia, are described and illustrated. With the description of the 2 new species, the number of Old World Whortonia species is increased to 21. |
