| abstract | In this work we studied live mite species of the genus Hirstionyssus Fonseca, 1948 (Acarina: Mesostigmata) on rodents from the Iztaccihuatl Volcano, Puebla, Mexico. The first report in Mexico of H. (H.) galindoi Strandtmann and Yunker and H. (H.) longichelae Allred and Beck is presented in this paper; a new species of the genus Hirstionyssus is described as well, H. (H.) martinezi. |
