abstractIn this paper, two new species of the genus Haemaphysalis are described and figured. All type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica, Peking, China.
Haemaphysalis (Haemaphysalis) qinghaiensis, sp. nov. (figs. 1-14)
Closely related to Haemaphysalis japonica Warburton, but its palpi less salient laterally and curved, rather than angular, in contour; tarsi (especially tarsi IV) comparatively shorter, stouter and somewhat humped; pulvilli relatively shorter; cervical grooves longer and distinct; and spiracular plates different in shape.
Holotype ♂, allotype ♀ and paratypes 2♂♂ 2♀♀ were collected from goats in June 1965 from Huangyuan, Qinghai Province, China.
Haemaphysalis (Haemaphysalis) moschisuga sp. nov. (figs. 15—27)
Related to Haemaphysalis japonica Warburton, but in its male, scutum relatively narrower and elongated, lateral grooves not enclosing festoons, spiracular plates subrectangular, with margins rounded, palpi comparatively narrower and less salient; in its female, palpi also less salient, outer margin of palpal segment II not concaved and not shorter than that of segment III, hypostome with extensive corona of approximately 1/4 as its length, cervical grooves comparatively longer (extending beyond posterior 2/3 of scutum), and spurs on coxae II-IV somewhat narrower and pointed.
Holotype ♂ and allotype ♀ - Zeko (2800 m), Qinghai Province, from Moschus berezovskii Flerov, VI 19 1964. Paratypes - 9♂♂ 9♀♀, data as for holotype and allotype; 6♂♂ 2♀♀, Qusum, Tibet Autonomous Region, from Moschus berezovskii Flerov. VII 30 1972.
