| abstract | Two new species of Ascoschoengastia from Yunnan Province are described. All type materials are deposited in the Control and Research Institute of Epidemic Diseasesof Yunnan Province.
Ascoschoengastia (Laurentella) yunnanensis, sp. nov. (figs. 1-4)
Idiosoma of partly engorged larvae 466-485×302—321µ. Galeal setae nude; palpal setation b-b-bbb+6B; palpal claw trifurcate. Scutum with anterior margin bisinuate, posterior margin rounded; senillae elongate club-shaped. Pl>AM>AL. Eyes 2+2. Dorsal setae arranged 2-6-4-6(7)-4-2(3,4)=24-27. Sternal setae 2-2, ventral setae 27-34. Leg segments 7-7-7, with solenidions as figured. Standard measurements of Holotype: AW=49, PW=64, SB=24, ASB=23, PSB=24, AP=23,AM=32, AL=22, PL=40, Sn=37×9, HS=43, DS=29/32, VS=20/28, IP=624.
Holotype: larva, collected from the ears of Rattus flavipectus in September 1970, from Yunnan Province. Paratypes: 3 larvae, collected from the ears of Rattus flavipectus, Petaurista yunnanensis in September 1970, from Yunnan Province.

Idiosoma partly engorged larvae 410-435×250-277µ. Galeal setae nude; palpal setation b-N(b)-NNb-6B; palpal claw trifurcate. Scutum with anterior margin bisinuate, posterior margin rounded. PL>AM>AL. Eyes 2+2. Dorsal setae arranged 2-4-4-6-4-2-2-24. Sternal setae 2-4(3), ventral setae 26-27. Leg segments 7-7-7, with solenidions as figured. Standard measurements of Holotype: AW=47,PW=60, SB=20, ASB=22, PSB=25, AP=25, AM=28, AL=21, PL=35, Sn=?,HS=34, DS=28/30, VS=17/29, IP=593.
