abstractGahrliepia (Gahrliepia) latiscutata, sp. nov. (figs. 1-5)
Idiosoma of unengorged larvae 252-270µ long and 176-198µ wide. Eyes 2+2, without ocular plate. Scutum wide, elongate hexagonal, with fine punctations. Scutalsetae 16, arranged 2-2-2-4-3-1-2 or 2-2-2-4-4-2. Sensillae olive-shaped. Palpal setae B/N/N.N.N, tarsal setae 4B. Galeal setae nude. Palpal claw 3-forked. Dorsal setae 28,arranged 2-4-4-6-6-4-2. Sternal setae 2-2, ventral setae 42-51. Leg segments 7-6-6, coxal setae 1-1-1. Standard measurements of holotype: AW-62, PW-92, SB-59, ASB-21,PSB-134, AP-36, AL-39, PL-42, Sn-36 (expanding part).
Holotype: larva and Paratypes: 2 larvae, collected from ears of Eothenomys melanogaster Milne-Edwards, in May 1965 from She Xian, Anhui Province, deposited in the Department of Parasitology, Bengbu Medical College.
The new species is similar to G. (G.) kiangsiensis Hsu et al., 1965 in the dorsal setal formula and the shape of cheliceral blade. But the standard measurements and the number and arrangement of scutal setae are distinctly different.
Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) bengbuensis, sp. nov. (figs. 6-10)
Idiosoma of larvae 275-328µ long and 187-220µ wide. Eyes 2+2, with ocular plate. Scutum transverse elongate, rectangular, with fine punctations, anterior margin slightly concave, lateral margins slightly concave, posterior margin sinuous. Sensillary bases situated slightly in front of level of posterior lateral setae. Scutal setae 5, PL>AN≥AL. Palpal setae N/N/B.N.N, tarsal setae 7B. Galeal setae plumose, palpal claw 3-forked. Dorsal setae 45-52, arranged 2-10-10-8-8-6-4-2-2; 2-10-10-8-4-5-4-2. Sternal setae 2-2, Ventral setae 41-42. Leg segments 7-7-7, coxal setae 1-1-1. Standardmeasurements of holotype: AW-88, PW-93, SB-31, ASB-32, PSB-14, AP-33, AM-42, AL-45, PL-79. Sensillae lost.
Holotype: larva, Paratype: 1 larva, collected from body of Rattus norvegicus, in October 1964, from Bengbu, Anhui Province, deposited in the Department of Parasitology, Bengbu Medical College.
The new species is similar to L. (L.) scutellaris Nagayo et al., 1921 and L. (L.) intermedium Nagayo et al., 1920. But L. (L.) scutellaris is distinguished from the former by the shape of anterior margin, posterior margin, and posterior lateral angles of scutum and by the arrangement of dorsal setae 2-10-10-10-8-4-2. The scutum of L. (L.) intermedium is distinctly smaller than that of L. (L.) bengbuensis, sp. nov., the shape of posterior margin of scutum and the arrangement of dorsal setae are also different.
